The Alberta Resotrative Justice Association (ARJA) is a group of organizations and individuals who practice Restorative Justice. The Association supports existing and new Restortaive Justice initiatives in Alberta.

Medicine Hat College - Public Legal Education Workshops

The Public Legal Education program at Medicine Hat College provides general education and information about the law and the legal system for people without legal training. During these sessions you will gain knowledge about laws of Alberta and how they apply to you. Professionals from related fields instruct these courses and answer your questions. Seminars are free of charge, thanks to the professionals who volunteer their time as well as grant funding from the Alberta Law Foundation. The Brooks Campus also offers public legal education workshops from time to time.

Alberta Worker's Health Centre

The Centre is a registered charitable organization established in 1983. The Centre believes that every worker is entitled to a safe and healthy workplace. They support all workers, both unionized and non-unionized, who need assistance to make their workplaces healthier and safer, or who request help as a result of workplace injuries or illnesses.  The Centre's website hosts learning materials on dramatic presentations to school audiences about employment and workplace health and safety law as well as links to publications on workplace rights.

Residential Tenancies (Safer Spaces for Victims of Domestic Violence) Amendment Act

In August 2016, the Residential Tenancies (Safer Spaces for Victims of Domestic Violence) Amendment Act, Termination of Tenancy (Domestic Violence) Regulation, and amendments to the RTA Ministerial Regulation, were proclaimed. These changes to the RTA allow victims of domestic violence to end a tenancy early and without financial penalty. This legislation applies in cases where if the tenancy continues: •  The tenant’s safety is at risk; •  A dependant child’s safety is at risk; or •  A protected adult’s safety is at risk.
